During August 30-31, I had the privilege of teaching the MSK Clinical Anatomy course in Brașov – a particularly enjoyable and learning experience for both myself and the students who attended. This course was a detailed exploration of over 100 muscles and the anatomical variabilities that we frequently encounter in clinical practice. From topographic and palpatory anatomy, to clinical relevance, muscle testing and their role in various pathologies, we discussed all the essential aspects that help us become more precise and effective physiotherapists.
What made this course truly special was the interactive and hands-on approach we adopted. Participants not only learned about muscle anatomy theoretically, but also had the unique opportunity to actively engage by identifying and drawing muscles on their colleagues' bodies. This hands-on method allowed for a much clearer visual representation and contributed to the development of new skills in palpating and identifying relevant anatomical structures.
Throughout the two days, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and curiosity. I was impressed by the dedication and passion of the trainees to deepen their knowledge and improve their clinical skills. It was a real joy to see how the participants assimilated their new knowledge and to hear their positive feedback on how this experience helped them to better understand their own professional practice.
These clinical anatomy courses develop us as physiotherapists and allow us to be much more precise in the treatments we offer our patients. A detailed understanding of muscle function and anatomical role in various pathologies is essential to achieve better results and provide higher quality care. By deepening our knowledge of anatomy, we ensure that we are able to diagnose and treat with greater precision, thus contributing to the recovery and well-being of our patients.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this course for their energy and commitment. It was a valuable experience and I am convinced that we all left better prepared to face clinical challenges with greater confidence and competence. I look forward to seeing you again at the next learning and professional development sessions!
